Ugh

I think I’m starting to get migraines. Boo.

Went to the Sarah Slean show last night. She was sublime as always, as was the opening act, Royal Wood. I was so surprised and delighted w/ him. I bought all three of his cds.

They both inspired me to want to write, which I need to get the hell on top of, since my debut’s next weekend (oh god).

On the Road

A new song from my band. Two takes. All awesome.

Holy cow

Look what I’ve found. And it’s even the same cover art as in the clip. Yay!

Also…

Everthing about this makes me happy

Elephant Gun by Beirut.

The first step

I don’t play the uke well yet, and the band so far only consists of me, but, I present…

Switchblade Death Derby!

*Update - the link is different. I’ve done it now so the account lets me upload songs.

Yipee!

The Dresden Dolls are playing in Atlanta during my visit.

I feel utterly charmed.

Now I just have to figure out how to get there and if I have to stay overnight there. Oh, and how to buy tix when I’m all the way over here in Canada.

My Wednesday

I’m listening to the Persian Dance Party on iTunes. Have I mentioned that, in my opinion, iTunes and the iPod are the best inventions I can think of in the past 20 years? I also think Middle Eastern and East Indian pop music is the best in the world.

I took today off work to work from home, but haven’t started yet. I slept late, showered, went for a walk, bought some groceries (aka, junk food and trashy mags). I also bought a bottle of red wine from the liquor store. The clerk asked, “Have you been there?

I replied, “Where?”

He motioned to my hat and said, “Peru”.

I told him no, and said he had a good eye. I guess he’s here to attend school and is originally from Brazil. He knew my hat was from Peru instantly.

I really enjoy little exchanges like that.
